Who We Are
Moran Farms is a farming enterprise at Illasit, near Oloitokitok, Kajiado South, Kenya, operated as a social enterprise of Digital Moran CBO. In this policy “we” means Moran Farms. If you have a question about your information, our details are at the bottom of this page.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us. This site has no contact form and no account system, so everything we hold has come from an order, a call, a message or a training session.
- When you order: your name, phone number, email address where you use one, delivery location and the details of your order.
- When you call or message us: your phone number and whatever you choose to tell us. WhatsApp messages you send us are held in our WhatsApp account.
- When you join a training session: your name, age where relevant, village or location and contact details, so we can tell you when the next session runs.
- When you visit this website: our hosting provider records standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visited. We do not run advertising trackers on this site.
How We Use Your Information
- To quote for, prepare, pack and deliver your order.
- To answer your questions and give you agronomy support after a sale.
- To arrange silage work and training sessions.
- To keep records of sales and payments as required for accounting and tax.
- To send updates about the farm, only where you have asked to receive them.
Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for advertising. We share it only with the people who help us operate, and only to the extent needed:
- Couriers and transporters: your name, phone number and delivery address, so your consignment can reach you.
- Payment and mobile money providers: to receive and reconcile payments.
- Digital Moran CBO: our parent organisation, for accounting and governance.
- Where the law requires it: for example in response to a lawful request from a public authority.
Phone, WhatsApp and Email
When you contact us by WhatsApp your message is also handled by WhatsApp under its own privacy terms, which we do not control. The same applies to our email provider. If you would rather not use WhatsApp, call us or write to us instead.
Photographs of People
The pictures on this site were taken on our own farm and some show members of our team and trainees at work. If you appear in a photograph here and would like it removed, contact us and we will take it down. You do not need to give a reason.
Data Retention and Security
We retain order and payment records for as long as we need them for accounting and tax purposes, and other contact details for as long as they remain useful for the purpose you gave them to us. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
Your Rights
Under the Data Protection Act, 2019 you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, ask us to delete it, object to how we are using it, and unsubscribe from our updates at any time. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will respond as quickly as we reasonably can.
Children
Some of our training participants are under 18. Where that is the case we collect only what we need to run the session safely, and we ask for a parent or guardian to be involved.
Changes to This Policy
If we change how we handle information we will update this page and change the effective date at the top.
